So it has come to this.
Exactly one week after Barack Obama’s speech to Congress (the infamous Joe Wilson “you lie” speech), Joe Wilson has been vindicated. Those two words, “you lie,” have prophetically become, perhaps, the two most profound and legitimate words to be uttered by a Congressman. Joe Wilson encapsulated, with two words, Obama’s entire resume, and is causing great distress on the Left.
The analogue: The Democratic Party begot the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), and ACORN subsequently begot Barack Obama; ACORN is also involved in an intimate and symbiotic relationship with the Democratic Party. It also participates in a contrasting and mutually exclusive relationship with conservatism, and the idea of democracy.
Rep. Joe Wilson shouted the axiom heard around the world: you lie, during Obama’s speech while mid-lie. Since then, Wilson has apologized for the outburst, but not the content, which he should not, since he was only being honest.
What has been the fallout of Joe Wilson’s outburst? $17,000 per hour in campaign contributions, give or take a thousand or so. He has raised $750,000 in less than 48 hours according to a national Republican fundraising committee.
Republican fence-sitters and moderate wannabes should take note of Wilson’s political capital windfall from his Kinsley Gaffe. We have all experienced an amusing situation when someone says exactly what we are thinking, but haven’t the gall to utter. Painful and uncomfortable to witness, yet still amusing and strangely satisfying.
David Axlerod, Obama’s presidential campaign czar, was overheard at a Washington D.C. diner discussing the Joe Wilson effect: “$750,000 in less than 48 hours. Hmmm, it would be an outrage if Obama couldn’t capitalize on his own lies. It would be outrageous not to. According to the Joe Wilson algorithm, we could, yes, definitely could, raise $68 billion for Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign based just on his lies during his first eight months.”
There was a moment of supreme truth during Obama’s speech Wednesday night; lamentably for Obama, it rolled off the tongue of the very charismatic Rep. Joe Wilson as he interrupted Obama, mid-lie, with the utterance, “You lie!” The catalyst that seemingly ignited Joe Wilson’s enthusiastic interjection was Obama’s deceptive statement that illegal immigrants would not be covered under his universal health care program. Joe Wilson, apparently temporarily possessed by the Holy Ghost of honesty, was left no choice other than to attempt to cast out the demonic spirit of misstatement that had set up shop in Obama’s vocal chords.
When an opponent declares, “I will not come over to your side,” I calmly say, “Your child belongs to us already… What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.” – Adolph Hitler
He who opens the gate allowing the enemy to enter is the true enemy.
The Democrat-led Congress are battlers, nothing less than rabid war mongers. They have declared war, and have engaged in unrelenting battle upon battle against morality, the rule of law, the Constitution, individual rights, and national sovereignty since ascending to the leadership of Congress in 2006. Prior to the 2006 election, they issued threats and rattled their sabers, but all was for naught, as the adults were in charge of tempering their tantrums. The Democrat-led Congress’ latest combat campaign is being, at this precise moment, waged against our national security, specifically the CIA, which is charged with the gathering of intelligence for the purpose of preempting an attack on this country. The Democrat-led Congress is not a platoon without leadership as they were during the years 2006-2007; Barack Obama and his xenophobic lieutenant, Eric Holder, are leading them into battle; their targets are being dispatched via communiqué from the left-wing media.
