Al Gore, Global Warming and the Nobel Peace Prize for Dummies

Figures often beguile me, particularly when I have the arranging of them myself; in which case the remark attributed to Disraeli would often apply with justice and force: “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.”

Al Gore’s carbon offset program for dummies: A bloviating, partisan, misleading, pompous person goes to the doctor for a physical. Let’s call him Al for short. The doctor tells Al he is obese and needs to lose weight. Al goes to another doctor for a second opinion. The second doctor does extensive testing and determines that Al has a genetic disorder and that he will go through varying changes in weight from obesity to thin though out his life and there is not much he can do about it. Al is told not to panic as it is a natural occurrence for him. Al is told that he should try to eat responsibly regardless of his weight.

Al realized there is money, Oscars, Nobel Prizes and fame to be made off this if done right. Al starts a company and every time he has a cheeseburger, fries and soda, the new company will buy someone else a salad to eat. Al needs to sell this idea, so using P.T. Barnum’s “there is a sucker born every minute,” Al starts screaming and ranting that we are all going to die if we don’t stop eating cheeseburgers or buy a fat offset. You can eat all the cheeseburgers you want, just like Al, you have to buy a fat offset from his company to make things equal out.

Two caveats: Al has a hormonal imbalance and quitting cheeseburgers will not cause him to lose much weight. Al has the market cornered on lettuce and every time a person eats a salad, Al gets richer. Everything offsets and everything is greener-especially Al’s bank account.

Where does Al Gore buy his carbon offsets for the huge carbon footprint that he leaves behind from his $20,000 dollar per month utility bill, SUVs and private jets? He buys them from Generation Investment Management. This company is a 501(3)c nonprofit, tax exempt corporation. Al Gore is the chairman and the co-founder. When he buys his offsets, he buys them from himself. When anyone else buys carbon offsets —Al gets richer.

Liberals want you to believe that all conservatives hate the environment and are continually trying to destroy it because that’s what capitalism does. Let’s compare George Bush’s assault on the environment to Al Gore’s. Bush’s home in Crawford, TX is less than 1/3 the size of Al Gore’s carbon footprint producing behemoth house of 10,000-square-foot with 20 rooms and eight-bathroom Nashville, his 4000 square foot home in Arlington, Va. and his third house in Virgina. Bush’s house takes the wastewater from the showers, sinks and the toilets and routes it to purifying holding tanks underground. The purified water is then sent to the cistern to mix with rainwater. Al Gore’ water, after washing the carbon off his body in the shower, goes into the public sewer. Bush’s house also has a geothermal heating and cooling system installed in it. This system operates at about 75% of normal heating and cooling systems. Al Gore’s house has a lot of electrical and light switches and he has yet to use windpowered electricity that is offered by the utility companies at both the Tennessee and Virgina homes. Al Gore consumes 221,000 kilowatt hours per year and the average household uses 10,656 kilowatt hours.

Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize for his film “An Inconvenient Truth.” Alfred Nobel was so disturbed by how his invention of dynamite was and could be used for war and destruction, that he started the Nobel Peace prize. His instructions for winning the prize: “The Nobel Peace Prize should go to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”

Al Gore’s political propaganda film is so fraught with junk science and lies, it is no wonder it was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. That seems to be the criteria for the past 40 years. He is in good company. He can forever be remembered as not only a fraud, but he shares the same distinction and stage as the modern day father of terrorism; one of the worst presidents the United States has ever produced and hands down the absolute worst ex-president we have ever had; the father of communism in Viet Nam; the person who wrote the instruction manual on corruption for the U.N.; the the rabid anti-Semite president of the same university that invited Amedenijad to speak.

What were the intellectually corrupt Norwegian politicians, who parade around as benevolent bequethers of Alfred Nobel’s wish, reasoning for giving the Nobel Peace Prize to a person whose contribution to world peace was a self serving documentary about global warming that was full of factual inaccuracies? “Global climate change may induce large-scale migration and lead to greater competition for the Earth’s resources, and there may be increased danger of violent conflicts and wars.” According to these moral turncoats, Al Gore has single handedly put an end to future wars and famines.

“An Inconvenient Truth” has so many factual errors that it cannot be shown in the British public school systems without a warning and an accompanying fact sheet to prevent political indoctrination. The court ruled the Guidance Notes to Teachers must make clear that:

• The film is a political work and promotes only one side of the argument.
• If teachers present the film without making this plain they may be in breach of section 406 of the Education Act 1996 and guilty of political indoctrination.
• Eleven inaccuracies have to be specifically drawn to the attention of school children.

The inaccuracies that the students must be told before viewing are:

• The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming. The Government’s expert was forced to concede that this is not correct.
• The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The court found that the film was misleading: Over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years.
• The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The Government’s expert had to accept that it was “not possible” to attribute one-off events to global warming.
• The film shows the drying up of Lake Chad and claims that this was caused by global warming. The Government’s expert had to accept that this was not the case.
• The film claims that a study showed that polar bears had drowned due to disappearing arctic ice. It turned out that Mr. Gore had misread the study: In fact four polar bears drowned, and this was because of a particularly violent storm.
• The film threatens that global warming could stop the Gulf Stream, throwing Europe into an ice age: The Claimant’s evidence was that this was a scientific impossibility.
• The film blames global warming for species losses including coral reef bleaching. The Government could not find any evidence to support this claim.
• The film suggests that the Greenland ice covering could melt, causing sea levels to rise dangerously. The evidence is that Greenland will not melt for millennia.
• The film suggests that the Antarctic ice covering is melting; the evidence was that it is in fact increasing.
• The film suggests that sea levels could rise by seven meters, causing the displacement of millions of people. In fact, the evidence is that sea levels are expected to rise by about 40 centimeters over the next hundred years and that there is no such threat of massive migration.
• The film claims that rising sea levels has caused the evacuation of certain Pacific islands to New Zealand. The Government is unable to substantiate this and the Court observed that this appears to be a false claim.

Dr. William Gray, one of the world’s foremost meteorologists, stated that in 10 or 15 years we will look back and realize how foolish this movie was. He called the movie, “ridiculous and fabricated by people who don’t understand how the atmosphere works.”

Al Gore claims that the CO2 in the earth’s atmosphere had increased because of pollution. Marlo Lewis states that,” The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is small enough to be referred as a trace gas. Lewis also reports that over the past century and an half, atmospheric CO2 levels have risen from about 280 part per million to about 380 parts per million-from 3/100ths to about 4/100ths of one percent of the atmosphere.

Al Gore’s competition for the Nobel Peace Prize was weak at best. The closest competition he had may have been Irena Sendler. She did not stand a chance against Al Gore, preventer of future wars. Her achievements were modicum in comparison to what Al Gore accomplished sometime in the future–remember his award was for his preventing wars in the future by making a factually inaccurate documentary and selling carbon offsets from a company he owns to a multitude of liberal half-wits.

Irena Sendler was born in 1910 in a small town near Warsaw and raised by her Catholic parents. Her only downfall was that she was only able to rescue 2,500 hundred children during the Holocaust rather than the entire earth in the future. She was a Catholic social worker who went to Warsaw to rescue Jewish kids from death. She surreptitiously transported the Jewish children past the Nazis with a network of schemes and tunnels and provided them with false documents and procured Polish families to adopt them. She made a list of the Jewish children’s names and hid them in buried jars so someday she could give them their true identities. She was captured by the Nazis in 1943 and tortured and sentenced to death by firing squad. She never gave up her contacts and lists. She was eventually freed after a guard was bribed. She is scarred and disabled from her torture. She is in her 90′s now and living in Poland. It is a shame that someone with this meager of an accomplishment would try to compete with Al Gore and his future war stoppage for the Nobel Peace Prize. She should be ashamed for not withdrawing her name once she realized what a peace keeping force she was up against.

The Nobel Peace Prize has become just another political accomplice for the lefts of the world to propagate their views on the world through a now meaningless award that at one point had honorable value. This blatant biased abortion of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize has sealed the awards fate as meaningless and politically motivated as the Oscar that Al Gore won for the same documentary.

The movie “An Inconvenient Truth” is glutted with junk science and political propaganda. Our impact on the earth’s atmosphere is far less than the left wants you to believe, but that does not excuse reckless systematic pollution. Most businesses will become as environmentally green as possible if they are to survive in the future. Nothing short of that will be tolerated and it should not be. The propaganda that Gore has tried to ingurgitate everyone with only lessens the credibility of a serious environment movement because of his apocalyptic rants and the junk science that he is selling and his obvious self serving shenanigans. The sky is falling scare tactics without a plausible scientific argument for change only creates an atmosphere of defiance.
