Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., chief prosecuting attorney for the advocacy group Riverkeeper, an environmental organization, darts around the world on private jets apprising people how to conduct their lives for the sake of the Earth. Not flying around the globe on private jets is at the top of that list.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is also an irrational and run-of-the-mill incoherent conspiracy theorist. He believes that George W. Bush stole the presidential election in 2004. Not the 2000 election against Al Gore, but against John Kerry in 2004. He stated, “After carefully examining the evidence, I’ve become convinced that the president’s party mounted a massive, coordinated campaign to subvert the will of the people in 2004.”

He is to the science of vaccines as Al Gore is to the science of meteorology. Kennedy, like Gore, twists, bends, molds, contorts, then lies about science to fit his agenda.

Kennedy has attributed almost every conceivable malady of mankind to vaccines. Vaccines, who needs them? Certainly not the hundreds of millions of people who have been inoculated against chickenpox, diphtheria, hepatitis, measles, mumps, tetanus, and last but not least, polio. Question: Would Kennedy’s fellow Leftist, FDR, have been opposed to vaccines also, especially the polio vaccine?

The best Kennedy could come up with regarding George Bush’s 2004 stealing of the election were vague, shadowy, and unsubstantiated accusations. Nothing more. But when an organization that operates as a crime syndicate, which has either been indicted or is being investigated for voter fraud spanning multiple states, commits continuous felonies of voter fraud for the Democratic Party, Kennedy has this to say:

And all of this stuff that we’ve heard recently about ACORN falsely registering people, it’s really not an issue in our country. The stuff that ACORN was involved in really was people who were working for ACORN defrauding ACORN. You hear these stories about somebody filing 18 different registrations for the same person. Well, there’s actually nothing illegal about that. You can file as many registrations as you want. It’s only the last one that counts. And that, you know, they have Mickey Mouse registered or whatever.

Now that the worst snowstorm to hit Washington D.C. in the past 90 years has completely shut the city down this past week, including the federal government, there is no better time than the present to reminiscence about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lamenting about the lack of winter weather in Washington, D.C. a mere 15 months ago. Kennedy, possessing the title “resolute defender of the planet,” self titled, of course, penned his anecdotal observations– as are most man-made global warming facts– about the disappearance of winter weather in D.C. forever. Of course American corporations are to blame.

His maxim:

In Virginia, the weather also has changed dramatically. Recently arrived residents in the northern suburbs, accustomed to today’s anemic winters, might find it astonishing to learn that there were once ski runs on Ballantrae Hill in McLean, with a rope tow and local ski club. Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don’t own a sled. But neighbors came to our home at Hickory Hill nearly every winter weekend to ride saucers and Flexible Flyers.

In those days, I recall my uncle, President Kennedy, standing erect as he rode a toboggan in his top coat, never faltering until he slid into the boxwood at the bottom of the hill. Once, my father, Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, brought a delegation of visiting Eskimos home from the Justice Department for lunch at our house. They spent the afternoon building a great igloo in the deep snow in our backyard. My brothers and sisters played in the structure for several weeks before it began to melt. On weekend afternoons, we commonly joined hundreds of Georgetown residents for ice skating on Washington’s C&O Canal, which these days rarely freezes enough to safely skate.

Meanwhile, Exxon Mobil and its carbon cronies continue to pour money into think tanks whose purpose is to deceive the American public into believing that global warming is a fantasy.

These Leftist activists are much like chameleons. They bounce around from one populist cause to another, changing their colors to suit their environment, and generally for profit. But as with Kennedy and Gore, beneath the veneer of their changing colors is nothing but a cesspool of counterfeit and fabricated credentials, and good intentions that, coincidently, are as passionate as the money involved.

Las Vegas, the city that populates the arid desert of lower Nevada, has been laid siege by a rabid winter snow storm, indeed. The City of Sin is in the grip of a paralyzing winter storm of biblical proportions in respect to the intersection of their longitudinal and latitudinal jurisdiction. Flights are grounded, schools canceled, highways closed, and the only comfort and options remaining for the patrons of sin is the continued intimacy with the ATM machines and hence the gaming tables.

“This is the most snow we’ve had in Las Vegas in almost 123 years,” said Jerry Smote, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “It’s a significant historical event.”

The heaviest snowfall occurred on the strip, where about 63 inches of snow had accumulated by 6:34 p.m., with unconfirmed reports of as much as 86 inches at the Mirage, he said.

Between 21 to 22 inches more could fall in that area by the time the storm tapers off Thursday morning, and the Luxor could receive up to 23 inches additional snowfall, he said.

Wednesday’s snowfall in Las Vegas was the most since 1883–52 years before Bugsy Siegel–when .8 inches fell in a 92 day period beginning Dec. 30.

After personally witnessing the clarity of the alabaster squall that engulfed the City of Sin on HD television, my thoughts wandered to man-made global warming. I wondered if we, (earthlings) are experiencing global warming, and how much worse it could have been for Vegas if they were not in the midst of man-made global warming. Perhaps 200 inches of snow? More? I contemplated, excogitated, even percolated in my mind the tackling of the idea of man-made global warming, cooler temperatures, and even the occasional blizzard in the desert, but could not reconcile it within the parameters of my cerebral limitations. I suffer from the same infirmed affliction from which Al Gore suffers–I am climatologically challenged. I needed to defer to an expert, and pronto. I needed someone who is looked up to in these matters, yet not formally educated in the classics of meteorology, like Al Gore, only smaller.

For my climate expert I chose a one, Seth Borenstein, the science writer for the AP who was recently maligned within the pages of a suspicious blog which is captained by a quasi grandiloquent author. I was able to arrange an interview with Mr. Borenstein to allay my disquieted hysteria of man-made global warming during a cooling cycle of the earth, and to hopefully pass it along within these pages to my bevy of man-made global warming agnostics. And at the same time give Mr. Borenstein the opportunity to rehabilitate his impugned climatic dignity.

The telephone interview, sans introduction, pleasantries, etcetera:

Your humble reporter: Mr. Borenstein, what are your thoughts concerning the paralyzing tempest that has befallen Las Vegas?

Seth Borenstein: I find it very, very disconcerting. The warming fallout will be devastating for Las Vegas, and quite frankly, the whole state of Nevada.

YHR: Does is not seem presumptuously antagonistic to forecast a rapidly warming earth, and especially Las Vegas, considering the progression of cooling temperatures this past decade?

SB: Absolutely not. Warmers, such as me and Al, believe in the “spring effect”. If you apply stress to a spring to its maximum recoiled state and cause it to remain in an artificially highly reflective state for too long, and thusly changing its dimension, then when said stress is released, the spring is propelled beyond its original state of rest.

YHR: And, pray tell, what does that have to do with man-made global warming?

SB: You see, when the earth is cooling from man-made CO2 and other bad stuff in the air from SUVs, and not buying carbon offsets as Al suggests, that is Mother Nature recoiling like a spring. Then bam! It goes in the other direction and starts warming up.

YHR: Good God, man, Are you serious?

SB: Absolutely.

YHR: Why do you single out Nevada, with particular emphasis on Las Vegas, for selected apocalyptic heat condemnation from this alleged “spring effect”?

SB: It’s a desert…it is warm there… no snow…then when it comes, it will come fast and hard…120, 130, perhaps even 180 degrees… death…people melting in the street…the smell of singed cat fur….death…all dead…it can be stopped….carbon credits…ma..

YHR: Seth…Seth…Seth!!!!

SB: <garbled>

YHR: Seth, are you there? Seth?

Click!

Our good fortune would have been for the interviewee to have laid to rest, with an intellectually plausible decipherment of the science presented, any doubt about how a cooling earth is a direct cause, and overwhelming prelude of a ravaging heat wave to come. But unfortunately the obvious state of psychasthenia that Mr. Borenstein shares with Al Gore and his multitude of Warmers, prohibits a credible argument’s presentation. So there you have it, cold means warm, and quite possibly, warm means cold. It certainly plays havoc with one’s determination of raiment for the day.

Al Gore’s pontificating global warming lemmings continue to advance his junk science. The latest assault on credible science comes from AP writer, Seth Borenstein. I have opined before about Al Gore’s motivation to be a global warming alarmist, but I am bewildered as to why these journalists are propagating his junk science without so much as a cursory glance at the facts. More manifold results could be expected in the addressing of humankind’s cause and effect of pollution and global warming if Al Gore were exposed for the mountebank he is by the very scientifically challenged sycophants who grovel at his Gucci’s.

Seth Borenstein attempts to beseech the uneducated and intellectually somnolent with unscrupulous propaganda disguised as scientific truths. He declares with cerebral malfeasance, that, “The 10 hottest years on record have occurred since Clinton’s second inauguration. Global warming is accelerating. Time is close to running out, and Obama knows it.” But many scientists disagree with Al Gore’s assessment of the causes of global warming, and according to the World Meteorological Organization, “The first half of 2008 was the coolest for at least five years, adding that it may actually be the coolest since 2000. In reality, there has been no global warming since 1998 as temperatures leveled off and are now beginning to plummet as a result of dwindling sunspot activity.”

More of Borenstein’s aspersions to science: ” ‘The time for delay is over; the time for denial is over,’ he said on Tuesday after meeting with former Vice President Al Gore, who won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work on global warming. Scientists fear that what’s happening with Arctic ice melt will be amplified so that ominous sea level rise will occur sooner than they expected. They predict Arctic waters could be ice-free in summers, perhaps by 2013, decades earlier than they thought only a few years ago.” The Arctic ice did decrease in 2007, but it also increased in 2008 back to 2007 levels. The Arctic ice shelves, throughout time, have increased and decreased, long before man could have had any negative effect on the planet’s warming trends. Greenland was named Greenland for one reason: The ice shelves melted during the Medieval warming 1000 years ago and the Vikings settled there and appropriately called it as they saw it–Green land. Incidentally, what is now London was not under water during this era of melting ice shelves, but the alarmists continue to predict a submerged fate for London, along with other geography close to sea level.

In an interview from Foxnews.com, James O’Brien, an emeritus professor at Florida State University who studies climate variability and the oceans, said, “When the Arctic Ocean ice melts, it never raises sea level because floating ice is floating ice, because it’s displacing water. When the ice melts, sea level actually goes down. I call it a fourth grade science experiment. Take a glass, put some ice in it. Put water in it. Mark level where water is. Let it melt. After the ice melts, the sea level didn’t go up in your glass of water. It’s called the Archimedes Principle.”

Borenstein summarizes his agitprop compostion with what must be one of the most illiterate statements uttered by a credentialed journalist, by actually stating that, “While skeptics are already using it (2008) as evidence of some kind of cooling trend, it actually illustrates how fast the world is warming.” Using Borenstein’s logic, if an oven were turned on, as the temperature inside the oven ascends, it would, in his bizarro world, rival a refrigerator’s capacity to produce ice in a matter of minutes. In his world it does make sense that the earth is warming since the mean global temperature is the same as it was in 1980, and the mean global temperature has fallen since 1998; therefore, the world must be heating up.

The bane of mankind, according to alarmists, is carbon dioxide and methane, both emitted by every living organism, even after death-a few relevant facts that Al Gore and his ilk refuse to acknowledge.

The Environmental Protection Agency believes methane emissions can be controlled by the government’s taxing of farm animals. The proposed tax plan for Joe the Farmer is a follows:

Dairy cows $175 per head per annum

Beef cattle $87.50 per head per annum

Hogs $20 per head per annum

More than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cows, or 200 hogs would need to be permitted by the EPA.

The only probable effect this might have on the natural production of methane is the elimination of most dairy farms, beef farms, and hog farms due to a prohibitive tax of doing business. A shortage of farm animals + no discernible reduction in methane + U.S. meat shortage = government bailout of the meat industry. A bloody good plan.

But what about taxing the termites? The largest natural producer of methane gas in the atmosphere are wetlands, including flooded rice paddies, at 160 metric tons per year. Wetlands are also the largest producer of total methane, including human-related methane. Termites come in second at 30 metric tons per year. Landfills lead the man made production of methane at about 150 metric tons per year. The primary difference being that landfill methane can be harnessed and used, and wetlands cannot.

An interesting scenario to excogitate is the dramatic decline in global temperatures during and after the Black Plague of the Middle Ages. This led to an approximate 30% decline of the European population, which led to a reversal of forest clearance, less land used for farming that reverted back to its natural state, which in turn led to a significant increase in carbon being taken from the atmosphere and stored in the newly abundant trees and vegetation. A misanthrope’s dream: humans die off, Mother Earth reverts back to its original state of nirvana.

The preceding scenario of circumstances, void of other climate change inducing facts, is one that alarmists cling to with the same feverish ignorance that liberals use to dismiss historical facts when they are counter to their ideologies. The ebb and flow of the earth’s temperature is well documented. Ice ages, mini-ice ages, and warming trends have always navigated full circle throughout the earth’s life. At the time of the Black Plague and its dramatic cause of the decrease in the European population, Northern Europe had already plunged into a mini-ice age. Alarmists dismiss the fact that CO2, currently, is at one of its lowest points of the earth’s history. They dismiss the fact that natural causes are the biggest perpetrators of CO2 and methane. But to extremists, alarmists, and liberals in general, the relevant is always the irrelevant.

The facts are these:

Every breath you take, you release CO2 along with every living organism.

The CO2 in the atmosphere was higher during the Middle Ages than it is now.

Currently the CO2 levels are 385 parts per million in the atmosphere–the lowest it has been in 600 million years.

Natural decomposition of plant and tree life releases about 200 billion metric tons of CO2, about the same that it absorbs per year.

All things that absorb CO2 eventually release it back into the atmosphere.

Human activity releases about 7 metric tons per year.

400 million years ago, CO2 was over 10 times higher than it is now.

CO2 and global temperatures cannot be scientifically correlated.

The very wetlands that environmentalists fight for are the largest contributors of methane in our atmosphere.

Water vapor (oceans, etc.) contributes 70% percent of the earth’s greenhouse effect.

97% of all CO2 production and all water vapor are completely out of human control.

Al Gore is a peddler of global warming snake oil for profit.

Seth Borenstein is an addle headed idiot.

If there were a specific CO2/methane imaging satellite that could exclusively measure CO2 and methane produced by the human body, then Washington D.C. would show up as a bright red blotch.

For anyone who wishes to enlighten themselves about global warming, the historical facts of the earth’s climates changes and trends are at their disposal. Al Gore, and his mob of sycophantic scientist choose to ignore the opinions of other climate scientists if they don’t agree with their assessment of global warming, and then readily characterize them as scientific Judases. Trends and statistics will always be manipulated by beguiling people if there is a dollar to be had.

This earth has an outrageous pollution problem caused by mankind that is being overshadowed by the ignorant rantings by the likes of Seth Borenstein, and any other media that is hawking global warming because it is salable. Mankind is producing far more methane and CO2 than it probably should, but the current mania is not the solution. As long as global warming can be politicized, profitized, utilized by profiteers such as Al Gore, used as a political tool by politicians, and the facts manipulated to sell media, there will never be a resolution.

Global warming is not a new phenomena created by man. The earth has always heated and cooled to varying degrees. It is simple physics, the kind you learn in grammar school. The law of conservation of matter states that matter can neither be created nor destroyed (except by Al Gore peddling his “carbon credits”). If all humankind were eliminated, the earth would continue to heat up, cool down, increase and decrease in available CO2, and increase and decrease in methane. But that does not excuse mankind for not trying its best with the utilization of sound science to create as little damage as it can to the planet–and Al Gore is not, by any stretch of the imagination, mankind trying its best.
