The Democrat Convention–Where’s the Bump
There was an anticipated 10 percent bounce in Barack Obama’s poll numbers after the announcement of his vice-presidential candidate, and the ensuing convention of the Democrats. Obama’s poll numbers actually dropped, and McCain took over the lead, still within the margin of error, but still no bump for Obama. Then a +1 bump after Bill and Hillary’s speeches, but still within the margin of error, according to the Rasmussen Reports. There is still the possibility of an upward movement in the polls for Obama after the close of the convention.
So what happened?
The public display of the abject, behind the scenes drama of the divisiveness within the Democrat Party has highlighted the undignified, and feral nature the party has de-evolved into. Couple that with the over-the-top news coverage that is so biased in favor of the Democrats, it has left many Democrats embarrassed. Yet Obama remains incapable of pulling ahead, despite the entire main stream media on his side.
The anticipated bump in the polls from the sophomoric display of theatrics leading up to the announcement of the vice-presidential candidate, including, but not limited to the adolescent 3:00 am text message naming Joe Biden as the VP, was an embarrassing failure.
The picking of Joe Biden caused not a stir in the polls.
Joe Biden has a negative history dating back to his failed presidential bid in 1987, when he pulled out of the race because he plagiarized a stump speech. And the concurrent discovery of a history of plagiarism, dating back to his college days when he was given an F in a law class for plagiarizing a law review. Biden also has a long history of spewing out of his mouth the most divisive and inane statements.
Michelle Obama’s speech can be encapsulated in one word—condescending. Her preposterous speech was either a contributing factor to Obama’s poll numbers dropping -2 points the following day, or an uncanny coincidence. Understand that if one knew nothing about Michelle Obama, and this was her fledgling attempt at a political speech or statement, with no documented negative rhetoric of hers available, it was a wonderful and moving speech. But it wasn’t. Michelle has a long history of racism, anti-American rhetoric, and a separatist ideology. When Michelle Obama took the podium, what was witnessed was the end product of coaching, directing, focus groups, polling numbers, and an army of writers involved to try and reinvent her into something palatable outside the radical circles who worship the Obama’s. Michelle Obama has a history of looking under rocks for racism and perceiving its presence where it does not exist. Her negative ratings stats are too high, and need to be buffered by having her appear the polar opposite of the true character that she has so wantonly displayed since her days at Princeton. The Michelle Obama that stood behind that podium was a fraud.
The drama and manipulation leading up to the roll call of Clinton’s delegates at the convention was a study in circus histrionics. At one point, the delegates were being subjected to having to cast their votes from their hotel rooms rather than on the convention floor. Clinton, after selling another piece of her soul in Faustian fashion, worked out some sort of deal with Obama and the Democrat Party, then suspended the roll call of her delegates midway through, and called for Obama to be approved by her delegates through acclamation–the same way a local talent contest’s winner is declared with the clap-o-meter. She did this in that patently shrill of a voice that can best be described by Vonnegut as a band saw cutting galvanized tin. This shows the undemocratic nature of the Democrat Party, and that Hillary can be bought. She received 18 million votes and those voters wanted their voices heard, as is customary in a democratic process. The Obama camp did not want, on national television, the closeness of the primary race replayed, and the fact that he lost 9 of the last 14 primaries, broadcast to viewers and voters.
The grandeur and pompousness of Obama’s fake temple was apropos for his vacuous rhetoric. The venue for his speech was moved from the convention center to Invesco Field to accommodate the 70 thousand plus multitude. Make no mistake about it, Obama is what his detractors have labeled him–a celebrity.
The speech: Obama’s speech was the same recycled rhetoric from the 60′s he can’t even reinvent, just different names and circumstances. He spent the majority of his speech with his customary defaming of this country, and demonizing John McCain’s policies. He spent a good portion of his speech in a mendacious stupor. He lied about John McCain’s reference to anyone making less than five million dollars per year as middle class. That was a joke that McCain told at the Saddleback question and answer forum to make his point of reducing taxes across the board so everyone could prosper. He bashed McCain’s plans to give tax breaks to corporations, yet no relief for Americans. Yet in the same breath, Obama blames conservative ideology for the decimated auto industry in Michigan. When in fact the problem in Michigan and other states where manufacturers have left this country, can be directly attributed to a hostile corporate environment created by Democrats with their ominous corporate taxes, support of labor unions, and a Democrat run state.
Obama lied about wages dropping from $7500 to $2000 from the Clinton administration to the Bush administration. This cannot be substantiated with any legitimate economic authority. The ensuing compares the amount of taxes the middle class paid under the Clinton administration with Bush’s. This is Obama’s plan for the middle class:
Taxes under Clinton 2000
- Single making 30K – tax $8,400 28%
- Single making 50K – tax $14,000 28%
- Single making 75K – tax $23,250 31 %
- Married making 60K – tax $16,800 28%
- Married making 75K – tax $21,000 28%
- Married making 125K – tax $38,750 31%
Taxes under Bush 2008
- Single making 30K – tax $4,500 15%
- Single making 50K – tax $12,500 25%
- Single making 75K – tax $18,750 25%
- Married making 60K- tax $9,000 15%
- Married making 75K – tax $18,750 25%
- Married making 125K – tax $31,250 25%
The reader should keep in mind that Obama and his Democrat cronies do not want to renew these tax cuts when they expire in 2010. They want to increase them on corporation and the wealthy, yet want you to believe that there will be prosperity and job growth. I challenge anyone to name someone who went to work for a poor person.
Obama stated during his faux beatitude, “We are the party of Roosevelt. We are the party of Kennedy. So don’t tell me that Democrats won’t defend this country. I will never hesitate to defend this nation.” The problem with this statement is twofold: First, Obama would never have been able to elocute his Marxist rhetoric during the era between Roosevelt and Kennedy and come out of it unscathed–especially by Joseph McCarthy–Kennedy’s friend. Second, John McCain, arguably, is either equal or to the left of Kennedy, and if Kennedy ran on the platform that he governed with, he would be ostracized by the left of today, and labeled a radical right-winger.
All in all, the speech was full of the same static, filled with unsubstantiated accusations, multitudes of promises with no indication of how they will be fulfilled, and smartly avoiding the patriotic dialog, which is a no-win situation for Obama.
With that said, Barack Hussein Obama could have stood on his fake Greek temple and presented William Ayers (terrorist), Jeremiah Wright (racist), Tony Rezko (felon), et al, a birth certificate showing he was not born in the United States, is sympathetic to Osama bin Laden, and he still would have received a standing ovation from that crowd. The left portrays itself as progressive, but in reality they have been a regressive fraternity since the 1960′s. As mankind goes, the left has actually de-evolved into soulless, unprincipled husks of humanity, void of any semblance of morality as they have passionately demonstrated in this election.
Note to Obama, your fake Greek temple is not the Galilean hillsides, and your attempt to duplicate a Sermon on the Mount aura with your celebrity driven theatrics, was anemic. You are not the Messiah, so stop acting like one. You are a media created celebrity masquerading as a wannabe leader with nothing to bring to the table but hot air and bitterness.
Where is your bump?
