Very nice! But about Steny Hoyer: Yep! I can believe he has a J.D.. We did not read the U.S. Constitution even once in law school. NOT ONCE. The Federalist Papers were not mentioned.

Instead, we read U.S. Supreme Court decisions which purported to explain why congress has the power to regulate anything it pleases. We were told that the "general welfare", the "interstate commerce" and the "necessary & proper" clauses give Congress this power. We were told that Judges make law and set policy.

This is what goes on in the law schools. The professors reject the concept of objective value, standards, and principles. They jeer at the notion that judges, legislators and presidents must conform to the objective standard of The Constitution.

The mystery to me is why do students surrender their intellectual independence? WHY? Our minds are who we are! Why surrender that to someone who couldn't cut it in private practice if his life depended on it?
